Alex Lehmann, CPA

Alex advises and assists individuals and privately held businesses in the areas of tax planning and compliance. His industry experience spans commercial and residential construction, restaurants, retail, technology, light manufacturing, and government contracting. Alex joined MPC in 2005 and brings more than twenty years of public accounting experience, complemented by over a decade in commercial banking.

In 2025, Alex was recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Top 200 CPAs, a distinction honoring leaders in the profession who demonstrate exceptional expertise, leadership, and impact. He is deeply committed to advancing the accounting profession, elevating client service, and leveraging technology to drive meaningful innovation in the industry.

Alex is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and currently serves a four-year term on the AICPA Governing Council, helping shape the future of the profession at the national level. He is also the Chair-Elect of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) and serves on its Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. His long-standing involvement with NCACPA includes two terms as Chair of the Symposium Committee, as well as active participation in the Innovation and Emerging Technologies Resource Group and multiple tax and advocacy initiatives.

In addition to his professional leadership, Alex is committed to community engagement. He currently serves as Treasurer for Theatre Raleigh and has previously held Treasurer and Board Chair roles with The Green Chair Project and Visual Art Exchange. He has contributed to arts advocacy as a member of the Cultural Leaders Focus Group for the City of Raleigh Arts Plan and has lectured on accounting and tax issues for organizations such as Triangle Art Works and the Orange County Arts Council. For over two decades, he has been a returning guest speaker at Meredith College and various local conferences.

Born in Italy and raised in South Florida, Alex has deep family roots in Raleigh dating back to the 1960s. He earned both his undergraduate degree in Finance and his MBA from Florida International University. Alex, his wife, and their youngest daughter live in North Raleigh, where they are active members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. His oldest daughter is a freshman at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she is studying accounting.
